Lazy & Proud!

I don't know about you, but sometimes I just like doing
NOTHING.

Sometimes I like to get up when I want, do what I want and just I guess enjoy my own company.
But surely I cannot be the only one?

I can't be the only one who lies in bed, not getting up and just likes to be alone with his/her thoughts?
As well as pondering over very important dilemmas...
But seriously after I finish uni, I am in for a big shock. Because obviously when you get a job you have to get up at a certain time, and do what your told...don't think that's going to go well...

To be honest, I think I've come to terms with the fact that you know what?

 I am a lazy person.

Walking around in my PJ's is AWESOME.
Watching Sex and City re runs is AMAZING.

When I am asked the question...

Friend: "Hey do you want to go for a run?"
Me: "A run...?"
Friend: "Yeah you know, 6am, see the sun rise, get our hearts racing?"
Me: "erm I have homework to do"
Friend:"You're at University, not school"
Me: "I have important University work to do"
Friend:"But you've finished University for the year?"
Me: *pause* "...I need to bake a cake*"
Friend: ".....but you're on a diet?"
Me: *runs and hides"

fin.

You know what I'm really trying to say is..?

 I do not like running,
I hate getting up early,
I'd rather run on a treadmill at 3pm while watching TV....

That still counts as exercise right?

God I am so Lazy....

No Cake Makes One Unhappy Blogger!

"...Doesn't this cake look so good!"
***
Anyway that's not the point!

As you can guess this blogger is a bit all over the place and craving cake!...well anything sweet actually, cookies, shortbread hmm maybe even jam on toast!

But why do you ask? WHY am i craving all this delicious "goodness"?

Because the fact of the matter is, it isn't really "goodness", it's food which is really unhealthy for me. && I'm tired of always eating this stuff when I'm feeling upset.

I'm sure some of you can agree, when you're having a bad day, the follow picture applies...

You know what i mean? When your in a mood, EVERYONE knows about it!
&&& for such a long time, food, cake, anything edible was my
go to fix.
***
I weighed myself recently && I have been the heaviest i have ever weighed in my whole life and it really shocked me. I realized in the last 3 years i have put on a STONE a year.

The thing is, I honestly can comprehend how I put on so much weight? But I know for a fact if i don't sort it out, I will just get bigger and bigger.

I am cutting out all my "midnight snacking"
all my, "lets eat for the sake of it"....

&& suddenly you realize, how much spare time you have, when you only eat when your ACTUALLY hungry. It's quite amazing...
***
I know I can do this. I have a family history of diabetes, cancer and being overweight && I refuse to just let myself go...

I WILL DO THIS, && I am strangely optimistic....
Is anybody else trying to eat healthier? If so why?

I want to get healthy, be the right size for my height
&& look half decent in a bikini!

Isn't It Funny What The Universe Gives You?

*I never wear make up, I think I'm too lazy, but the one day I did wear make up I decided to take a picture to just document this momentous occasion!*

***
But yes... going back to the nature of this post...

.
Sometimes I think its amazing what the universe gives you.

At the moment I'm having a midlife crisis..

 I'm not joking!

I'm 20 in January and i started thinking to myself... 20 next year... I wanted to be a millionaire by the time I'm 23 and I have nothing to show for it!

I think we all get to this point where you think to yourself... where is my life going?

So I sat down, with a cup of tea and really started to think, I'm doing a degree in Human Resource Management... but what do I want to do after I finish my degree?

I have always wanted to be a writer, I adore reading, have read from a very young age and I read extremely fast...then it hit me!
Why don't I pursue a job in my favorite hobbies?

I know it sounds stupid but i assumed everyone loved reading, everyone loved writing and everyone could read as fast as i could. Reading books all day would be my ideal job.

***I was looking through random blogs and I came across a writing competition
that Macmillan publishers are running, they want a new author
to write a childrens book and if they like it....
they will publish your book, give
you £10,000 and offer you a publishing contract.***

My jaw literally dropped... this is what i wanted, an opportunity to attempt to actually work towards a career I've always wanted!!! && it's been handed to me on a plate.

It made me think. Maybe me coming across this opportunity simply by looking at random blogs on the internet was meant to happen?

Many people may say it was pure coincident that I came across this
competition...maybe so but I saw it as an opportunity.
The moment I opened up my mind to actually considering to pursue something I loved
I happened to come across the means to achieve it.

But a question to you, the person reading this....

Has anything ever happened to you in your life similar to this, a moment which may be pure coincident but really has made you think?

Are you like me, do you believe if you open your mind to certain possibilities, suddenly opportunities come your way?

50 Shades of Grey...?

Yes, like many other women & men in fact, I too have fallen for the trilogy "Fifty Shades"...
or should I say a "Mr. Christian Grey" ;)

To be fair I did want to read the book because of all the hype, reviews were calling it a "yummy mummy book" and of course I did not want to miss out!

Truth be told the first book was bought for me by a very naive boyfriend who had no idea what the book was about, he knows I love reading so I just happened to mention this book...

Lo and behold, after receiving the first book on the Friday, I was out on Saturday buying the next 2 books in the trilogy...yes I did read the book in 1 day and I just NEEDED to read the other 2 books.

I don't want to give away the story line but I do have very much a love hate relationship with this elusive "Mr.Grey" and with the writer.

Mr. Grey

  • As the author put it, you are in fact 50 shades of f***** up
  • But then why as a reader do I love you as a character so much?
It poses in interesting question in my mind, the character of Mr.Grey is the epitome of what a lead male romantic character is, string, wealthy, competent (he has a boat and a helicopter), carefree, brooding etc etc

But is in fact very damaged and as a reader, you over look this! Maybe this just shows that women can't help a "fixer upper". We love a challenge and the author plays into this.

The Author

In my opinion she is a very clever women. By creating a twilight esque novel and adding erotic sex , its a seller and its no wonder her book has been flying off the shelf.

To her credit she has created a very powerful character which will in no doubt translate very well onto the screen.

To conclude

I loved the books, I enjoyed reading them.
Do I think story wise, the books would have been successful without the help of "Mr.Grey"  and his lets say "particular" sexual exploits?

No.

But anyway, no one really bought these books for the storyline....

Is Romance Better In Books?

To me, books are such amazing things. In each book, pure imagination is captured && to me that is such a powerful thing x

Being an avid reader, I love books. I adore them.
When I was younger they were my escape, on the playground, a new kid, in a new school where your peers seemed very different to yourself, my lunchtimes mainly consisted of finding my bench and sitting down and reading.

When I was younger and now, I normally finish a book in a day.

Today I read the hunger games, started this morning and finished this evening.

If I love a book, I will sit there, hours on end and read a book cover to cover, & realise I have spent the whole day lost in another place altogether.

In books I was comforted. In books I was taken to magical places, I understood what bravery was, what magic was and in a sense what love was.

Although not all novels depict love in a positive light, in fact many stories I read were full of heart break, but I have ALWAYS been a sucker for love stories.

The question in my mind is, is romance in books better?

You could argue it is, men always showing their love, poems, lavish gifts, climbing mountains/fighting/fighting off death to be with/save/find the one they love.

My opinion?

I love reading about love in stories. However, realistically the idea of love is over heightened, over exaggerated in these stories. Yes I would love to be showered in outbursts of love everyday, but you know what?

Wouldn't that just make it less special? When someone says you are my everything, surely being told that at the right moment means more, stays in your heart, rather than being told every single day?

When it comes down to it, when you find your own fairy tale, when you create those moments in your life when you think "you know what? This would make an amazing chapter in a book" to me that is Love.

Yes I haven't climbed a mountain, no I haven't jumped in front of a train.

Instead, I've done one thing better...

I've brought my notions of love, learnt from these books to my actual life.
Instead of reading above love, I experience it everyday.

Instead of reading about characters feeling butterflies, or feeling an electricity, I get to experience that myself.

Okay,  don't get me wrong, I adore romance in books, I'll open up a book and get lost into another world. It's just amazing to know that when I close that book, I have my very own adventure to embark on.

***

Bit of a soppy post I know? Feeling broody, I think its effecting my brain ...

Does anybody else adore reading, getting lost in another world?
Or do you think romance in books will always be better than real life?

xx
